Đurić Confers with Fiji’s Foreign Minister in New York

Đurić reaffirmed Serbia’s commitment to strengthening its overall cooperation with the Republic of Fiji, noting that exchanges of visits at the high and highest levels would contribute significantly to greater mutual understanding and provide fresh impetus to relations between the two countries. In this context, the Serbian Foreign Minister took the opportunity to invite his Fijian counterpart to visit Belgrade.

Đurić particularly highlighted the importance of cooperation in the field of information technology, noting Serbia’s readiness to support Fiji’s digital transformation, particularly through the transfer of expertise in e-government and artificial intelligence.

The interlocutors also discussed cooperation under the “World in Serbia” programme, which has for many years served as an important bridge between Serbia and numerous countries, providing young people with the opportunity to pursue their studies at Serbian universities with scholarships provided by the Government of Serbia.

The two Ministers welcomed Fiji’s participation in Expo 2027 in Belgrade, noting that the event will provide an opportunity for the country to showcase its potential to visitors from around the world.
